Food stamps and tax return?

i just got approved for food stamps and medicaid that i REALLY needed. My husband and I made a total of 14K in 2010. Our return was about 4500 because of our baby and EIC. We are waiting for it to be sent to my husbands account via direct deposit. Do we have to report this as income to DCF? I know we are not allowed to have over $2,000 in liquid assets and if we do, our food stamps and medicaid will be taken away. We can't afford to lose these benefits.. please help. thank you.
