Can my ex mother in law take my daughter from me?

Ok so i moved out of my parents house and in with my fiance and his grandmother, hes got a well paying job and we are both in the process of saving money (we have money saved already) and putting it down on a house for us, and my mother offered to take care of my 2 year old daughter untill we get a place of our own, id have my child move in with me and my fiance but theres not enough room(his grandmother collects ALOT of stuff) and we're super busy trying to get our lives together, we take her everyother weekend and she stays the night (her father has her on the other weekends). well my EX mother in law said that shes concerned for my daughters well beeing and wants to report to DCF that "its not safe for her to stay the night with me and my fiance" because theres not much room, i mean when my daughter stays the night we stay out all day and go to the park and we go have dinner and we have alot of fun and we come back and ill pop in her favorite show or movie and she goes to sleep. and my mother in law also said that whenever i do get on my feet that she wants someone to come out to the house to "check" on my daughter and make sure shes beein taken care of. Im not sure what her problem is, ive spoken to my daughters father and he said to just blow it off but i just want to know if she can make a case of this or not, and if shes just beein a power hungery ex mother in law....
